Application-level VPN system
The AppGate system supports all application protocols, not only web based applications. It supports multi-user systems such as terminal server solutions and the user can uses the real application interface without modification.
SSH VPN
AppGate is unique in that it supports VPN connections using SSH. A secure connection is created between the endpoint device and the AppGate Security Server just as easily as if it were SSL. This enables client-to-server traffic to be tunneled through any firewall, NAT scheme, or any other network component.
SSL VPN
An SSL VPN module can be added to the AppGate system to allow users to access web based services securely from any web browser, which can be useful for reading email on an airport or internet café pc.
Mobile VPN
The AppGate Mobile VPN client enables businesses to treat smartphones such as the Nokia N95 in the same way as a PC or laptop, with the same rules of access applied to all devices. Built-in roaming functionality in the client offers the possibility to automatically reconnect to the server if the network connection goes down.
