Secured eMail Technology

Secured eMail offers an award nominated, patented e-mail security solution that provides high security combined with strong technology whilst still focusing on user friendliness. From a technology point of view, the system is built with the future in mind. It uses the most cutting-edge and appropriate security methods without sacrificing performance or stability. It is a modular system, easy to extend to support for tomorrow’s agenda.

The Secured eMail system offers flexibility allowing the user to select which options best suit their needs. The system offers the ability to store data locally in a secured way depending on system configuration, as well as multiple methods for securing the email communication itself. The system uses PKI oriented techniques such as SSL where it is the most suitable method to use and symmetric key generation solutions when it is more appropriate.

With Secured eMail, all data on a local host that is related to the system is secured. This counts for internal databases, external data-stores and resource files. The base encryption routine is defined to a 256 bit AEST -PHM (Advanced Encryption Standard - Padded Hashed Message) in CFB (Cipher Feedback) mode. The 256 bit keys used are strongly randomized upon creation and then kept secured through encryption using deep SHA2 generations of one or many user defined passwords.

Secured eMail ensures secure interpersonal messaging. Between a sender and recipient, the system uses 256 bit AES_PHM in CFB mode as well as extends its key-generation routines with System SKG - a world unique patented solution for generating dynamic session-keys. System SKG generates 20 bytes (160 bits) dynamic "one-time" keys with the assistance of SHA1. Using SHA2 to scramble together multiple of these SKG keys with static seeds that are unique for the sender and the recipient with something we call a shared secret, Secured eMail establishes and maintains a very secure channel of communication.

Despite having an extremely advanced technological foundation, Secured eMail still offers a very easy to use environment for the end user and its administrator. Since user-friendliness is an important security factor, the system offers seamless email client integration, a flexible and extensive privileges system and extendable archiving options. Secured eMail has been designed to scale from home-user desktops to multi-national corporation laptops.

Cryptzone has registered all its extensions with the IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) of MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) mail. This helps ensuring that antivirus software and spam-filter software will recognize a mail sent securely with Secured eMail. The system has been externally tested and verified for Windows XP by Veritest France, without remarks.

The file extension: sema

The file type "vnd.sema" is assigned and listed by the IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority), for MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) mail. vnd.sema is registered as a MIME Application Media-Type.

This is a huge quality stamp on the Secured eMail product. In addition to that, this means that the Secured eMail .sema-file will be accepted by security and antivirus software.
