Email security

Email is unsecure by default. However, it doesn't have to be that way. Using an email encryption solution solves that issue quite
effectively. The securing of communications was already in use during World War II with the use of the infamous Enigma, so why
aren’t we all securing our email communications today?
Email encryption
Email encryption has been difficult to use for as long as it has been around. Until now, the encryption of email has relied solely
on the use of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) technology in order to encrypt the contents of an email. In a nutshell, this technology means
that you as a sender need to have the recipient’s key before you can send a secured email. The recipient then needs your private key in order
to decrypt the message.
The flaw with this system is that it is difficult to use, and the setup of secure channels across the globe is often a full-time job for
a small business. For a large enterprise however, it can be a complete nightmare.
The technology that Secured eMail uses is based on a "one-time shared secret" – a form of password. It bears
this title due to the fact that a user only pastes it in once. After that, the key management is done automatically using a technology
called System SKG. If you wish to know more about this technology, please

In the Enterprise solution of Secured eMail, the creation of the One-time Shared Secrets are done automatically and the user will never
even see the difference between sending secured, and sending regular email.

Content Filtering & Policy enforcement

Using encryption is great and all, but if the information that you need to protect isn't being protected by the users, then what good is it?
This is where Content Filtering & Policy enforcement comes in. If an email body or the attachment(s) of an email contains sensitive information defined by the rules that you set up, you can
force the user to automatically secure the email and its attachment(s).

Portability
So, what about portability? Email encryption has been quite known to cause problems with mobile devices such as laptops without an internet or
VPN connection to the company servers.
Up until now, that was true. The
Secured eMail solution is as portable as your laptop should be. Secured eMail does not require a connection to the company's server(s), because the
secure channels that you need in order to communicate was established when the solution was deployed.
