Secured eCollaboration is an add-in module designed specifically for SharePoint security. Secured eCollaboration provides all the security functionality and controls you need to protect sensitive information and comply with data protection regulations, whilst still enabling co-workers to leverage the power of SharePoint.
With Secured eCollaboration you get advanced technology that provides the highest levels of security, and easy to use tools that make SharePoint security simple to deploy and implement. Users can encrypt any type of file quickly and easily and then assign access rights to specific Active Directory® users and groups; only authorized users can access secured files - authentication is managed automatically; the central management platform allows easy administration of users, licenses, policies and reporting; and documents remain secured if they are moved, copied, backed-up or if SharePoint is hosted by an external service provider.
SharePoint document security with a simple click
The tools for securing documents are integrated into SharePoint’s user interface. Users can encrypt any file or folder and then assign access
rights for users or groups within the organization’s Active Directory.
A key-icon clearly shows when a document has been secured and locked.
Seamless integration with SharePoint
Secured eCollaboration integrates seamlessly with the SharePoint document management systems ensuring a familiar look and feel. For users, SharePoint’s workflow is unchanged. For administrators, Secured eCollaboration supports content management features such as versioning and check-in/check-out.
Controlling user access
Integration with Active Directory makes it easy to manage access rights and secure groups. Users can assign access rights to users or groups within the organization’s Active Directory, or can create a new secure group. Administrators can centrally define policies to manage sharing rights for users or groups, and can create groups or departments with particular access rights. Roles define a user’s level of access - read-only, read/write or document management.
All copies are protected
Even after a secured document has been circulated via email or copied to users’ local PC’s, the access rights can be changed and the changes will be applied to all copies. The document creator can add or remove authorized users. Cryptzone’s EPM technology automatically synchronizes any security changes with all copies of the document, wherever they are.
Sharing secured documents externally
Authorized external users can access secured files without having to install any software. The document owner can create a self-running executable package and set a password. The .exe can be sent out via email, USB, or CD. The recipient just needs to input the password to open the file and can then edit and save and return the documents securely.
Automatic authentication and key management
Key management has traditionally been an issue with encryption solutions and can be expensive. Cryptzone’s EPM technology handles user
authentication and key management automatically, minimizing the administration overheads. The user just double clicks the document to open it,
there’s no need to enter passwords or keys.

Regulatory compliance
Crytpzone’s technology is designed to help customers meet regulatory compliance. Strong FIPS certified AES256 encryption and Cryptzone’s EPM technology ensure Secured eCollaboration is compliant with Sarbanes Oxley, GLB Act, HIPAA Hitech, FTC Red Flag Rules.
Helpdesk password recovery
When users forget or lose a password and can’t open an encrypted document, Secured eCollaboration comes with a built-in feature to support the HelpDesk with password recovery.
Security travels with documents
Documents secured with Secured eCollaboration can be moved or copied and stored securely on shared network drives, FTP servers, application servers, desktops, USB flash drives, CDs/DVDs and external hard drives. Copies taken using backup software will automatically stay secured. Encrypted documents carry user access rights with them to protect against unauthorized access.
SharePoint security in a hosted environment
The Secured eCollaboration endpoint client provides the encryption functionality and transports the encrypted document to and from the SharePoint server.
This not only minimizes the demands on the SharePoint server, but also ensures that all data travels secured and is stored secured on the server, even if
an external service provider is hosting SharePoint.
