Swedish Encryption solution could have prevented military breach

Gothenburg, January 7th 2008 - The discovery of a USB memory stick containing classified military information in a Stockholm library has prompted a meeting between the Swedish Military Intelligence, Security Service and foreign defense officials.

According to sources, the stick contained information regarding NATO’s peace-keeping force in Afghanistan as well as intelligence on the attempted assassination of Lebanese defense minister and the murder of Sri Lanka’s foreign minister.

"This type of carelessness is intolerable and can result in up to 6 months in prison. Punishing those responsible for these breaches after the event does not help solve the problem however "says Peter Davin, CEO and Co-Founder of Cryptzone". Steps should be taken to prevent these breaches occurring in the first place. Organizations should be penalized for not only losing data but for failing to implement necessary security measures. These include identifying process weaknesses, administering robust security standards and encrypting all sensitive data. A relaxed attitude is a dangerous attitude"

Cryptzone has just released a new version of their eUSB solution that boasts enforced encryption, event logging and brute force protection amongst numerous other features. The software converts and upgrades standard USB flash drives to encrypted and secured USB flash drives with strong central policies. After the Secured eUSB solution have converted a standard USB flash drive the data on it will be protected with the highest level of security available. The USB flash drive will have built-in user access control and strong data encryption - insuring that sensitive data remains secure wherever it travels. The users can access the secured USB flash drive from any computer by identifying themselves.
